2023 Pro Baseball Season
We're giving you TWO options for this year's Pro Season: the "Classic" Edition includes individual cards for nearly 1300 real-life big-league baseball players based on the 2023 pro season, presented in classic black and white; the XL Color "Express" Edition includes 720 individual color-print cards (24 per team), presented in standard baseball trading card size (each card 2.5" x 3.5"). We're excited to bring you another season of tabletop baseball with History Maker Baseball! Presenting the 2023 Pro Season, in two different versions: classic and NEW color trading card-style "express!"
The classic version is our biggest and most thorough pro season card set ever, nearly 1300 players carded, about 40 players per team. We've made some subtle design changes to enhance the look of the cards, but the presentation is substantially similar to our past pro season releases--just more cards!
The most significant new wrinkle for the standard set is that we've dispensed with the "traded player" list and instead incorporated the player movement symbols from our previous in-season card sets onto the cards, to help you quickly tailor your set to align with the kind of tabletop project you're planning to run. You'll find these symbols on the position line of the player's card. The "burst" symbol indicates that the player was on the team's roster at the start of the season, but later moved to a different team. The "clover" symbol indicates that the player did not begin the season with the team; rather, he was acquired from another team during the season. Thus, to create "Opening Day" rosters, simply remove all the clover players. To create "Pennant Race" rosters, remove all the "burst" players.
So, if you're looking for a full-play, full-season, in-depth immersion into the 2023 big league baseball scene, the “Classic” Edition is for you!
The "express" version of the 2023 Pro Season combines the best features of our in-season and Cooperstown card sets to create an all-new "current season" presentation. The cards have the same size and look as standard baseball trading cards, featuring 24 players per team, 720 players in all, in a colorful, contemporary collection. This set is designed for more casual sports board game fans to enjoy tabletop baseball--or to perhaps introduce NEW people to the hobby--by playing one-off games, short series, or round-robin tournament formats.
If you want a more casual, accessible, colorful approach to tabletop baseball, the XL Color "express" Edition will fill that bill.
The batting orders and umpire cards are common to both versions of the 2023 Pro Season set. You also get a set of 86 umpire cards based on 2023’s actual umpire calls. If you’re ready to enjoy a season of exciting, authentic tabletop baseball action—here you go!
